Who it is for

Built for buyers
who cite their work.

Buyer 01

Commercial electrical contractors.

Design-build firms and electrical subs running submittal cycles. Look up equipment-family code citations, the relevant federal facility specification section, and manufacturer-attestation status during submittal review.

Buyer 02

GC preconstruction teams.

Bid-day procurement and budgeting. Filter equipment families by responsible industry equipment standard, lead-time category, and last-attested timestamp without depending on a vendor portal.

Buyer 03

Spec writers & reviewers.

Submittal reviewers, code consultants, AHJ preparers. Use the designed PDFs as desk-reference for code-citation lookups, with every citation traceable to the upstream source document.

Workflows supported

Where the edition earns its keep.

Workflow 01

Submittal review.

Look up equipment-family code citations, responsible industry equipment standard, and applicable federal facility specification section. Cross-reference to industry testing standards during AHJ preparation.

Workflow 02

Bid-day procurement.

Filter equipment families by lead-time category and last-attested timestamp during budget windows. Plan around source-mix gaps documented in the QA report.

Workflow 03

Code citation lookup.

Cross-reference federal facility specifications, industry safety standard article numbers, and industry testing standard sections during spec writing and AHJ preparation. Every citation traceable upstream.

Workflow 04

Attestation tracking.

Track manufacturer-attestation status and last-attested timestamp per equipment family. Surface stale entries before they become a submittal-cycle problem.

Common questions

Buyer FAQ.

What's in the ZIP?

A single deterministic ZIP archive containing the Excel workbook (5 sheets), four CSV tables, five designed reference PDFs, methodology and QA documentation, license and attribution files, and a SHA-256 manifest. Three working surfaces (workbook, tabular CSVs, and designed PDFs) let buyers pick the format that matches their tooling.

How is this different from RSMeans Electrical Costs?

RSMeans focuses on cost estimation data (unit prices, labor rates, productivity factors). The Commercial Electrical Reference focuses on submittal and procurement workflow data: equipment families, submittal types, approval classifications, and code citations. The two products complement rather than replace each other.

Do I get free updates to future editions?

No. Each edition is a one-time purchase of a dated, source-attributed snapshot. New editions are issued as separate releases with their own license. Buyers who want a more recent build purchase the more recent edition.

What's the refund policy?

A 14-day refund window applies to all purchases. Eligible scenarios include corrupted downloads, material differences from the description or sample pack, and duplicate purchases made in error. Full terms are available at /refund-policy/.

What's the license? Can my team use it?

Single-buyer commercial license. The buyer's organization may use the edition internally. The data may not be redistributed, resold, or republished as a competing product. Full license terms ship inside the ZIP and are also available at /terms/.

What software do I need?

Microsoft Excel (or any modern spreadsheet that opens .xlsx) for the workbook. A standard PDF reader for the designed reference spreads. The CSV tables open in Excel, Google Sheets, DuckDB, pandas, or any standard tabular tool.

How do I verify the ZIP is authentic?

A SHA-256 manifest is included in the pack and is published on this product page after release. Buyers can run shasum -a 256 (macOS / Linux) or Get-FileHash (Windows PowerShell) on the downloaded ZIP and compare against the published checksum.

When do I get my download after purchase?

Immediately after checkout via Paddle's automatic delivery. The download link is delivered to your purchase email and is also accessible from your Paddle receipt.
